Turn product reviews into loyalty rewards

The Judge.me and Smile.io integration lets Shopify merchants reward eligible product reviews with loyalty points. Choose which review types earn points and offer higher rewards for photos and videos.

Encourage product reviews with loyalty points

Give customers an extra reason to review their purchase by offering Smile points for an eligible Judge.me product review. Those points count towards the rewards you offer in Smile, such as a discount on a future order once the customer reaches your redemption threshold.

This connects feedback after a purchase with a reward the customer can return to use. You choose the points awarded for reviews and the rewards customers can redeem in your loyalty programme.

For example, IMGadgets uses Judge.me and Smile to award 50 IMLoyal points for each approved product review. Its programme offers $5 off at 500 points: a review contributes towards that reward rather than unlocking it on its own. Your store can choose different earning and redemption values.

Encourage photos and videos with higher rewards

If shoppers need to see how your products look or work in real life, offer extra points for reviews with a customer photo or video. That gives reviewers a reason to include the detail you want to collect, such as a photo showing an item’s fit or a video showing it in use.

For example, you could offer 50 points for a text-only review, 100 for a photo review and 150 for a video review. These are illustrative amounts, not default settings. If your priority is visual content, you can enable only photo and video rewards; text-only reviews would then earn no points.

How the integration works

After you connect both apps and enable flexible review rewards, Judge.me sends Smile the type of product review submitted: text only, photo without video, or video. Smile awards points using the earning rules you’ve enabled and the point values you’ve chosen. Reviews must meet the reward conditions you’ve set in Judge.me.

Before you connect

• Plans and platform: use Judge.me and Smile on your Shopify store. This integration requires Judge.me’s Awesome plan and a paid Smile plan. Check Smile’s current plans for your integration allowance.

• Eligibility: a review must meet your Judge.me reward conditions and match a review type you’ve enabled in Smile. Enabling photo and video rewards alone does not reward text-only reviews.

• Important limits: when Smile is connected and active as your reward integration, Judge.me’s own coupon system is disabled. You cannot issue Judge.me coupons alongside Smile points through this integration. The coupon block in Judge.me’s smart review request emails is hidden; add your Smile points message to the email template manually.
